Where the 1980 provided a lot of neat and tidy narratives and handoffs- Jim Rockford to Thomas Magnum, Gordie Howe to Wayne Gretzky, 1999 was determined to be glitchy, which is very Y2K bug, so, Love Boat the Next Wave to Big Brother, Wayne Gretzky to Patrick Stefan.
In Part II of, “Which Brings Us To…” we look at Woodstock ’99, the rise of reality TV, Napster, NASCAR Speedway Crunch Cereal, Bill O’Reilly interviewing Marilyn Manson, and much, much, more.
The music is an eclectic slice of ’99’s finest including such diverse acts as Feist, Julie Doiron and the Stars, Hefner, Pedro the Lion, Blackalicious, Lootpack, MF Doom and Wilco.
And as always I’ll also provide the music only version of the podcast below.
Enjoy.
