This week’s drives around Niagara lead me to Fort Erie where the Lake Erie Ice Boom had been unable to contain giant chunks of ice from being piled up along the breakwall across the river from Buffalo.
Walking along the riverside path I have to say I was a bit challenged to capture the extraordinary results of the mounds of ice.
Other highlights of the short walk that day were the Canadian centennial sign near the border crossing, the Haven Motel just up the road and the Uncle Same statute that sits high atop the bingo hall in Fort Erie.
Fort Erie also has a relatively large, wild, assortment of both abandoned and active Asian food places near the ice boom.
